The Kokoro Healing Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) that serves the palliative care population with a purpose to provide choices beyond the actions available through traditional healthcare options. Funds raised will provide comfort, care and choices to individuals with life changing illnesses.
What does Kokoro mean? Kokoro is Japanese for the mind, body, soul. Our goal at the Kokoro Healing Foundation is to bring healing to the mind, body, soul of those we serve and care for in our community.
Through our experience many individuals are unable to access holistic and whole person care that could alleviate stress and symptoms, but are limited due to financial means. In fact, many of these services are overlooked and underused because health insurance companies do not consider them essential treatment options. However, at the Kokoro Healing Foundation, we know that whole person care is essential to the well-being of the individual and their support system.
Some of the much needed services funded by the Kokoro Healing Foundation may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Writing Therapy for Caregivers
Mental Health Services
Medication (not covered by insurance)
Medical Supplies (not covered by insurance)
Caregiver Respite Services
Funding for these services are provided through donations, grants and fundraising events.
We have also partnered with Caffe Lena to provide patients and caregivers Caffe Lena on the Road, True Song, and concerts.
